Recognized for outstanding community service

Ventura County Believe Center Social Impact & Civic Leadership Award
Presented by Annabel Taylor, Founder and CEO, to recognize a volunteer who goes beyond helping at events. Dhuruv spent months working one on one with adults rebuilding their lives, helping with practical steps like job applications and driver’s license preparation, and he stayed involved long after the event was over.

The Los Angeles Times profiled our student-athlete team and our work at Title I elementary schools in the Conejo Valley, from sports equipment and backpack drives to the Bridge Builder awards assembly at Maple Elementary.

Ana L. Alvarez, Parent Outreach Program Specialist for CVUSD, has worked with Dhuruv for nearly four years across the district’s Title I schools. She writes that when a parent survey showed roughly 65% of families struggled with digital literacy, he built a bilingual program to address it. She also notes that he insisted every slide, game, and instruction at events be offered in both Spanish and English, and that he brings his plans to her for feedback before he runs them.

Myrtle India recognized Make Great Plays, as a high-impact partner in their journey to support underprivileged children.
