Our Play for Change

At Make Great Plays, our mission is to bridge the digital literacy gap among elementary-age students by raising awareness, providing hands-on technology learning opportunities, and fostering a supportive, inclusive community. By empowering young learners with digital skills and confidence, we aim to spark lifelong curiosity, increase participation in technology fields, and promote socio-economic mobility and equality.

The Challenge

The digital divide continues to widen, especially for underrepresented and marginalized communities. Many students lack access to technology, internet connectivity, and digital literacy training — barriers that limit opportunity and reinforce cycles of inequality. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) rapidly transforms our world, those without the skills to navigate it risk being left behind.

We believe every child deserves the tools to thrive in this digital age — regardless of background, income, or circumstance.

Our Objectives

Primary Goals

  • Inspire and Educate: Conduct awareness sessions to spark curiosity and excitement about technology (e.g., recent event at Maple Elementary).

  • Connect and Empower: Host speaker series featuring technology professionals who share career paths and success stories.

  • Engage Through Play: Organize fun, hands-on technical competitions that promote teamwork and creativity — with exciting prizes for participants.

Secondary Goals

  • Collaborate for Change: Partner with educators and administrators to integrate computer skills training into elementary school curricula.

  • Create Access: Sponsor sign-ups for basic computer courses and subsidize low-cost computer purchases to ensure every child has the tools to learn and grow.

Together, We Can Make Great Plays

By inspiring curiosity, building digital confidence, and creating pathways to opportunity, Make Great Plays empowers the next generation of innovators, creators, and bridge builders — shaping a future where every child has the chance to succeed.
